Enteki - 60 m seems very far away, and when there are only 7 degrees C you tend to concentrate on yourself and not shivering aperars to be the main goal. Luckily the sun was on our side! Both Bucharest and Iasi practitioners under the same old sun with a new goal: learning Enteki.

This weekend Romanian Kyudo Association held the 12th National Taikai on Team and Individual competition. A wonderful opportunity for us to meet from all over the country. In the opening, we have assisted to a demonstration held by Mr.Traian Dascălu (godan) and Mr.Ovidiu Gyarmath (godan), and Raluca Puchea and Christine Smărăndoiu have recited in Japanese Raiki Shagi and Shaho Kun. The team made by Ștefan Marian (sandan), Angela Codreanu (mudan), and Sandu Postolache (shodan) got first place and, in the Individual competition, Ștefan Marian was the winner.

Yesterday, the Romanian Kyudo Association, along with the University of Bucharest and the Embassy of Japan in Romania, we have commemorated the 100 years of diplomatic relations Japan-Romania, the newly published bilingual edition of Eugen Herrigel’s book, “Zen in the Art of Archery”, and of course the opening of the Olimpic Games from Tokyo which will start in two days! The moderator of the event was Mr. Sorin Costreie, Prorector at University of Bucharest and speakers where: His Excellency Mr. Hiroshi Ueda Japanese ambassador in Romania, Ms. Olivia Toderan General Director of Global Affairs, Ministry of Romanian Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Ovidiu Dranga future Romanian Ambassador in Japan, Ms. Anca Focsaneanu, coordinator of Department of Japanese Language and Literature, Ms.. Alina Stoica, Director of the Sport Education Department and Mr. Ovidiu Gyarmath, President of Romanian Kyudo Association.

“Kyudo for friends and their families” was the theme of today's event which was dedicated to the sudents from the University of Bucharest of the Japanese language and literature and also for the students from the Ion Creangă College, Japanese language classes. The host of the event was the University of Bucharest which offered one of the most beautiful historical location, The Botanical Garden of Bucharest. Along with us was His Excellency Mr. Hiroshi Ueda the Ambassador of Japan in Romania which had opened the event celebrating the 100 years of Romanian and Japanese diplomacy and also encouraging the students to enjoy nature and, of course Kyudo.
